Tips for spending less
- I packed my own cereal from South Africa which I ate most mornings to save me from buying breakfast. I also packed some light snacks like dried fruit and biscuits.
Ways I could have spent less
- Buy less ice cream! LOL I committed to buying ice cream every day which cost me quite a bit but I enjoyed every single one.
Fortunately there were lots of sales during the time we visited so I did some shopping too. I bought bikinis, purses, shoes, caps and a watch. Altogether my shopping adds up to another R4000. Which makes my overall total including shopping just over R8k.
Thank you Farirai! This is really helpful, especially the tip on how to save money on food – love it! I want to travel more, and budgeting is where I struggle the most and end up not going anywhere. These tips and cost breakdown are very useful. Hope to see you soon!
It’s my pleasure! I’m glad it was helpful
I’ve always wanted to visit Santorini. Thanks to you I might just put my stinginess aside and do it!💃🏾
Make it happen Nande!

Interesting! Proves that holidays are not necessarily expensive.
Yes exactly! Glad you enjoyed this post
Definitely a destination that needs to be on everybody’s bucket list! When I go I think I’ll owe you an ice-cream as thanks for all the euros saved 🙂
Hahahaha! I will not forgot that promise 😁
This was a great blog. I have always wanted to do Greece and having to hear about the costs from a fellow wine lover/ice cream (😂)monster gives me a rough idea of how much to plan.
The suprise bikini shopping and everything that is an emergency was an added bonus.
Thank you! 😁 Ice cream is so good and we just have to factor that into the budget hahaha
